• Pierce Schmidt

  DVM

  Dr Schmidt has been involved with veterinary medicine most of his life.He started as a kennel worker at a practice in Middletown,Ct as a teenager.After After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Hobart College in Geneva,NY,he moved to Fort Collins,CO and attended Colorado State University.There he earned a Master of Science degree from the Department of Animal Science and a DVM degree from the college of Veterinary Medicine. He has been with our hospital since 1983. He enjoys the variety of clinical cases that being a general practitioner presents,the challenge of every day practice and the continuing learning process that the field offers. He and his wife have two grown sons and their household has included many cats and dogs over the years.

• Robert Stone

  VMD

  In 1976 Dr Stone graduated from Clark University in Worcester,Ma and after applying to dental schools,decided to follow his heart which led to cleaning cages for a local veterinarian instead.Five years later he graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.After practicing at a small animal clinic in Newton, MA for seven years,he moved to Connecticut and joined the staff at our hospital.

• Carrie VandeStadt

  DVM

  Dr Carrie VandeStadt graduated from Simmons College in Boston in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She worked for the New England Aquarium in Boston as part of the marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation network,and for the New England Medical Center in the dermatology research lab.Wanting to combine her interest in medicine and her love of animals,she successfully applied to the Tufts University of School of Veterinary Medicine,receiving her DVM degree in 1993.She started her professional career working in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,but soon returned to New England where she started working at our hospital.

• George Keech

  Doctor George Keech has joined our team at VCA Bristol Animal Hospital as the medical director and senior veterinarian, he enjoys being a doctor because it provides him with daily challenges, a puzzle of disease and illness that he enjoys unraveling to help pets have long, happy lifes with their families. George grew up in the Philadelphia area, and has lived in Charleston, South Carolina , and Germany before coming to Connecticut, where he resides in the Middletown area with his wife and children, they share their home with 4 parakeets, 2 guinea pigs, Coco and Puff as well as a Sheltie, they call Marty. Doctor Keech and his family enjoy camping, hiking, and visiting new places ranging from Tennessee to Prince Edward Island in Canada.
